Veronica Woodruff

Veronica Woodruff, Principal & Senior Project Manager

Veronica has more than 23 years of experience working in project leadership, environmental assessment and restoration, community engagement and education, and community stewardship. Before co-founding Clear Course, she worked as a project manager for an environmental consulting firm where she used her keen understanding of watershed processes to inform projects in hydrology, wildlife, fisheries, and terrestrial monitoring, including analysis and reporting. She has worked closely with local, provincial, and federal agencies in negotiation, permitting, planning, and project support, and she has a comprehensive understanding of the legislated roles and responsibilities within and between government agencies and departments.

Veronica applies her experience in ecosystem protection and restoration to a broad range of Clear Course projects regardless of sector. Her distinctive viewpoint has resulted in new and innovative approaches to community projects in community infrastructure, arts, language, food security, tourism, and economic development.

Veronica has a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads; her thesis focused on understanding collaboration in addressing natural hazard risk. She is an experienced facilitator and public speaker and is certified through the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2). Throughout her career, Veronica has demonstrated her ability to act as a connector, finding collaborative opportunities for government agencies, academia, industry, non-government organizations, and the public to work together to achieve a common goal. Her innate ability to mobilize people and resources has resulted in her founding three non-profit organizations, restoring wildlife habitat, developing the One Mile Lake Nature Centre, and supporting a range of other cooperative projects.
