Erica Vanloon, Grants & Client Services Lead
Erica grew up in the rural agricultural valley of Pemberton, BC, on a 250-acre seed potato farm where early immersion in agricultural entrepreneurship forged her strong connection to local food systems.
Driven by her desire to expand her reach as a global citizen, she completed an undergraduate degree in Global Development, followed by a Master of Science in Environment and Development. Erica focused her dissertation on the intersections between Grizzly Bear food security and Indigenous food sovereignty in the Líl̓wat Nation. She brings her writing, research, community engagement, and analysis skills—plus her knowledge of local agriculture and wildlife conservation—to Clear Course.
Outside of work, Erica finds energy and inspiration in the outdoors. Whether hiking, skiing, mountain biking, or spending time with family outside, she has a deep love for the natural world, especially native plants, Grizzly Bears, snakes, and salamanders. She’s passionate about fostering local coexistence with the species we’re fortunate to share this landscape with, which continues to shape her personal and professional life.
