Position Title: Grant & Client Services Lead

Location: Remote, BC

Employment Status: Permanent Part-time (20–31 hours/week) or Full-time (32–40 hours/week) hourly

Reports to: Manager of Grant & Client Services

Team Reports: None

Pay & Benefits: Starting at $35 per hour, plus work-from-home allowance, professional development contribution, and extended health benefits

Overview

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting rural, remote, and Indigenous communities with bringing their projects to life. In this diverse role, you won’t just wield your strong writing skills, you’ll walk alongside communities as they define their priorities, design impactful projects, and access the resources they need to make them a reality. From uncovering funding opportunities to writing compelling proposals and supporting project planning, you’ll play a key role in ensuring meaningful work moves forward. Depending on a client’s needs, you may work more in one area than the other.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Previous experience with grant writing and project coordination

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office (including SharePoint and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat

  • Previous experience working with Indigenous communities, local government, or non-profit organizations

  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP®, CAPM®) or similar an asset

  • Post secondary education an asset

Key Responsibilities

You are responsible for the following:

Grant Services

  • assess client needs, conduct grant scans using our internal grant database, identify suitable funding opportunities, and develop tailored grant strategies

  • collaborate with clients to prepare projects for funding applications, including developing scope, budgets, timelines, and measures of success

  • assess, validate, and document where projects are strategically aligned with organizational, regional, provincial and federal objectives

  • write clear, concise, credible, and persuasive grant proposals that are submitted with high attention to detail; submit proposals on time, every time

  • conduct research, validate project readiness, and produce compelling grant applications, including technical documents like cost estimates and project implementation plans

  • collaborate with other team members to deliver great work; provide constructive feedback and be open to receiving the same

  • track grants, maintain funder relations, and support reporting requirements

Client Support

  • support capacity building efforts in resource-stretched communities

  • support programs and projects by providing operational and administrative assistance not necessarily directly related to grant funding

  • support clients with internal project and program planning

  • facilitate and maintain clear communications between interest holders

  • collaborate with clients and team members on tracking budgets, preparing reports, and quality control

  • draft and collaborate on reports, board documents, and job postings

  • provide support for client meetings, including meetings with Chief and Councils, Boards, and Councils

Other Responsibilities

Duties may evolve in response to organizational needs, business needs, and as individual capabilities and capacities shift.

Work Environment

The Grant & Client Services Lead primarily works remotely from a home-based office with occasional in-person meetings. While this work is with a tightly knit team, the lead must be comfortable working remotely and thrive with autonomy and agency over managing their own time and workload. The lead will engage with team members and clients using virtual tools, such as Microsoft Teams.
